We could write multiple synonyms about Twolegs music and how it sounds or makes us feel. Flatspot is the follow-up to Irreversible that we released back in September. It contains more of the same heat made by this Nordic artist. Lots of keys, organs and vibes on the tracks, a release for the heads.

Flatspot EP is out worldwide and has gathered nice store and dj support across the board. From the key solo heavy Flatspot, to the organ heavy Nevertheless or the vibes stuffed I Can’t Take (and cheeky known classics sample), it’s got all the right ingredients to lift your sets to higher highs. Whew, that’s a nice summary of enticing words aye?

Colau – Highway Run

Argentinian producer Colau aka Nicolas Di Donato joins the label with Highway Run. A solid uptempo 2 tracker with deep and micro/minimal house influences. Dizzy on the flip – or second track – has the more minimal approach. Roughly one year ago he released his first tracks on Love & Loops, the label run by Ale Castro.

GENTS156 – Colau – Highway Run EP

Highway Run

Colau’s release Highway Run is an uptempo affair. Highway Run, while still maintaining a deep house vibe, clocks in at 127BPM. Heavy kick, deep subby bassline and some organs make up most of the track. Tracks don’t need to complicated to work, this is proof of that. Simple but so effective! Dizzy, the second track, is a little slower but still at a good pace at 124BPM, and keeps the forward motion going using stabs, muffled bassline and tweaked lead melodies.

We invite you to listen to Drive7’s debut Rejuvenate. Solid deep, lush sounding atmospheric and functional dance floor focussed deep house tracks. Based in Amsterdam and started out in the Dutch house music scene in 2010 as upcoming DJ and event organiser, hosting “Niksistof” and “Cream” events featuring both established DJ’s as well as upcoming talent, gaining recognition in the Dutch club-scene and appearing amongst others at Laidback Luke’s Nighttime Superheroes, De Maassilo, Paradiso and Escape. Previous releases out on Hungarian Hot Wax and House Cookin with a forthcoming release on Glasgow Underground.

Drive7’s new release Rejuvenate may/will sound a bit different to our regular label sound. A more modern and atmospheric, sometimes dubby approach of deephouse. This sound can be heard on the first two tracks: Rejuvenate and Galvanize, while the 3rd track Unwind is more of an oldskool sounding house track. All 3 though were heavily supported on mutiple store charts and dj-sets. Variety, the spice of life, innit?

Addvibe – Burdons

We have lost count how many times we’ve released music from our Norwegian friend Addvibe aka Lux Experience aka Pal Sorli. He routinely sends us links of new work, or as it was the case on Burdons, older unreleased tracks from ages ago. Burdons is exactly that, a 3 tracker with older unreleased cuts he found on a backup HDD. They survived the test of time as we liked them a lot. Starting of deep, moving over to more groovy and garage inspired sounds.

GENTS154 – Addvibe – Burdons EP

Burdons, Copycat & Happy Feet

Addvibe‘s new release Burdons is out worldwide by the time you’ll read this post. The release gathered nice support from Traxsource and DJ’s all over the world. Some like the deeper cut, Burdons, while others firmly opted to go for the more garage inspired Happy Feet. The garage house genre has been gathering fans left and right over the past two years and we see more labels giving the genre a chance. Addvibe’s track was found on an old harddisk and dates back a few years though. It’s playful in it’s use of clever placed samples to create the garage vibe.

Keep Your Word & Polaris

Keep Your Word is the main track of this collaboration EP between Oscar Barila & Tatsu that grooves nicely with a spoken word sample over the beats and a lush pad that’s being automated/filtered in frequency. Simple but really effective in the forward motion of the track. Next up we have Polaris, again with a nice filtered and automated pad, but with a more punching bassline and cool vocal chop adding tension.

Blue Chords – Shake Me Right

French producer, Blue Chords aka Steve Faets debuts on the label with Shake Me Right. He is a self-taught keyboardist who started playing piano at the age of 12. He enters the electronic music scene as a DJ around the year 2000. His musical galaxy is tinged with jazz, funk and disco sounds that he puts at the service of house music, deep house and funky house. His productions are oriented house, deep house, tech house or soulful house and highlight his love for piano, fender Rhodes and analog synths and vocals.

GENTS152 – Blue Chords – Shake Me Right EP

Shake Me Right

Blue Chords loves the keys/keyboard and it shows/it’s heard on all of his productions. Lush melodies and chord progressions underpin his tracks which he tops of with key solos of considerable length. Never boring, always exciting to hear, and oh so varied. The 3 tracks on his Shake Me Right EP capture this variety perfectly. The main title track is a jackin house bomb while I Don’t Wanna Give Up is more on a soulful house tip. Closing track Some Of Ya is the deeper cut on the EP. First and last track feature cheeky samples that connaisseurs should know.

We now have him back with original work spread over 2 different EP’s. This is the first one entitled Irreversible featuring 3 superbly deep tracks.

The man knows how capture the perfect vibe, always. Melodic and varied, funky uptempo or relaxing loungy vibes, it’s all there and tickles the eardrums.

Col Lawton has got to be one of the hardest working upcoming producers of the past 2, maybe 3 years. He burst onto the scene, and has been putting out so much new material it’s hard to keep track. Quality of his productions has gone up and this was noticed by other label owners. He signed some stuff to Atjazz which is kinda big. Finally, after declining a couple of his demos – just because they didn’t fit our sound – we’ve got him onboard with You Can’t Take It.

Walk To Your Own Beat

Col Lawton’s debut on the label is a fact. After plenty of demo submissions we finally agreed on the two-tracker You Can’t Take It with on the flip Walk To Your Own Beat. The latter title is exactly what Col does. He’s been ‘all-in’ for the past 2 to 3 years broadening his network, improving his skills in the studio and as a dj/labelowner, being actively involved in the scene. He’s got a broad range covered with his tracks although most could be easier categorized as ‘sounds like Naked Music’ (which are his own words). We’ll let you decide

Platzdasch & Dix return to the label with Sweeping Away. A sublime smooth and deep adventure with the vocals of Kayo Anosike on the main track. Timeless is a more uptempo groovy and funky house tune compared to the title track. The Krefeld duo never fails to amaze me, and it’s almost always an instant sign when their demos hit the inbox.

GENTS121 – Platzdasch & Dix – Sweeping Away EP

Guest vocalist Kayo Anosike on Sweeping Away

When Platzdasch gets together with keyboard player Dix they seem to vibe off each other that the results of their collaborative work are almost always spot on. Deep and smooth has become their trademark. On Sweeping Away they’ve also had Kayo Anosike do the vocal snips. Which makes the final product even more “Yum”.

Timeless, the other track on the virtual flip, is completely different to the main track. Guitar licks on a more uptempo beat opens the track, it slowly builds on top of a pad melody that seems to propel the track forward.
