We could write multiple synonyms about Twolegs music and how it sounds or makes us feel. Flatspot is the follow-up to Irreversible that we released back in September. It contains more of the same heat made by this Nordic artist. Lots of keys, organs and vibes on the tracks, a release for the heads.

From the key solo heavy Flatspot, to the organ heavy Nevertheless or the vibes stuffed I Can’t Take (and cheeky known classics sample), it’s got all the right ingredients to lift your sets to higher highs. Whew, that’s a nice summary of enticing words aye?

Blue Chords – Shake Me Right

French producer, Blue Chords aka Steve Faets debuts on the label with Shake Me Right. He is a self-taught keyboardist who started playing piano at the age of 12. He enters the electronic music scene as a DJ around the year 2000. His musical galaxy is tinged with jazz, funk and disco sounds that he puts at the service of house music, deep house and funky house. His productions are oriented house, deep house, tech house or soulful house and highlight his love for piano, fender Rhodes and analog synths and vocals.

GENTS152 – Blue Chords – Shake Me Right EP

Shake Me Right

Blue Chords loves the keys/keyboard and it shows/it’s heard on all of his productions. Lush melodies and chord progressions underpin his tracks which he tops of with key solos of considerable length. Never boring, always exciting to hear, and oh so varied. The 3 tracks on his Shake Me Right EP capture this variety perfectly. The main title track is a jackin house bomb while I Don’t Wanna Give Up is more on a soulful house tip. Closing track Some Of Ya is the deeper cut on the EP. First and last track feature cheeky samples that connaisseurs should know.

Hotevilla, a French music producer formerly known as KALK joins the label with the sublime – classic house- sounding 2-tracker Love Nation. Starting of with Never Give You Up, a smooth grooving affair with with all the right ingredients. From the warm sounding bassline, to the flute, and piano licks. Next up we have Don’t Look Back which just features more of that classic house vibe that only some producers execute really well. Both tracks for us have ‘all the bells and whistles’ a great deep house tune needs.

GENTS120 – Hotevilla – Love Nation EP

When Joffrey first reached out to us with demos a while ago we had to decline. The music was good, but just not completely fitting (to our ears!) with what we had forthcoming. A few months passed and 2 new demos hit our inbox. This time, they were spot-on!

Never Give You Up and Don’t Look Back are both tracks that immediately jumped at us upon first listen. It’s kinda hard to explain this to demo submitters. There’s no exact formula for a perfect demo. If you can catch the vibe I’m after (highly personal taste) then that’s really just all it takes. 30 Seconds in, listening to the tracks on Love Nation, and I was vibing on my chair. This only means… I love it/them!

Addvibe aka Lux Experience are the two monikers under which Pal Sorli releases various house flavors. With I Want, his latest single, he returns to the label as Addvibe. The release holds a deep original mix, a jackin Discolicious mix, and a super hot Twolegs remix. The latter being our absolute favorite because of the melodiousness or instrumentation. Proper deep, soulful house that fits in early time slots, afters, or even while lounging.

GENTS118 Addvibe – I Want

Addvibe and Twolegs, a Scandinavian super combo?!

Pal Sorli has a pretty cool history with music and dj-ing dating back to 1987. That year he was a DMC World DJ Championship finalist. Yeah, that’s right, the prestigious championship of turntablism. Surprised?

A couple of years ago we started talking online, together his friend HWAH, making plans to attend Suncebeat Festival in Croatia. We shared an appartement, danced till we couldn’t dance no more, drank way to much beer and had lots of fun and laughter. He’s a lovely, kind and warm hearted person with and incredible ear and music production skill. Not to mention his sample knowledge. And I can call him a true friend.

With his latest single I Want, remixed by the Danish Twolegs, he gave us a proper gem. Both the jackin Discolicious mix and Twolegs remix performed really well. The latter going up to #3 on Traxsource Deep House top100 for a few weeks. Hot, hot, hot, is all we can say. And if you still haven’t heard it, do it now!

Another Berliner joins the label, as Dj with Soul debuts with 2 tracker Deep Inside. Hovering between deep and soulful house, both tracks on the release have that classic feel and vibe. Since 2010, Dj with Soul has been focusing on music production, particularly on house music that comes from the heart and has that warm sound as well as soulful elements.

Can You Feel Dj with Soul’s deepness?

Karsten Weiss aka as Dj with Soul has been sending us some of his musical creations for a while now. Previous submissions had nice elements but somehow failed to convince us to get a release going. Not that the demos were bad, they just didn’t immediately jump at us. Which both tracks on this occasion did.

As long time fans of house music, we’ve got a knack or good ear to identify the elements that form a solid base for a classic sounding house tune. Both Deep Inside & Can You Feel It have the ingredients that made our hairs stand-up, tap a foot and write a reply almost instantly on his submission email, welcoming him to the label. George Jackson is a new upcoming producer from London, UK. Not to be mistaken with his Chicago homonymous. When we first listened to his Got That Magic demo submission, we were completely blown away by the quality of it. Super nice arrangement, with the wonderful voice of Gene Roberson carrying the track. Add to that a nice key solo and you’ve got our undivided attention.

George Jackson collaborates with vocalist Gene Roberson on Got That Magic

When you search for George Jackson on an online music retailer you will see multiple artists under that name. He is not to be mistaken with the Chicago artist with the same name. ‘Our’ George is based out of London UK, and deserves his own profile. To differentiate this, we’ve added (UK) next to his name. To create the single Got That Magic he collaborated with US-based soulful house vocalist Gene Roberson. The result, really is truly amazing. A deep, soulful house bomb, that we dare to call one of our best releases to date. Singapore based, UK expat, DJ Passion gets on the remix buttons and gives the original a garage house inspired rework. Adding more ‘oomph’ and power to the single for the peak time slots. Caen (France) based dj & producer WillowMan has been playing his music and dj-sets for over 15 years in local clubs and bars. His first productions were released around April 2015. He’s steadily been building up a nice discography ever since with a string of releases on noteworthy labels. From King Street to Frigo Vide, to Salted, Puro, or Oh So Coy…. To then land on Gents & Dandy’s with the superbly smooth 2-track ‘The Way’ EP. Next to the main EP title track, there’s ‘Rock My Words’.
