Argentinian producer Colau aka Nicolas Di Donato joins the label with Highway Run. A solid uptempo 2 tracker with deep and micro/minimal house influences. Dizzy on the flip – or second track – has the more minimal approach. Roughly one year ago he released his first tracks on Love & Loops, the label run by Ale Castro.

Highway Run

Colau’s release Highway Run is an uptempo affair. Highway Run, while still maintaining a deep house vibe, clocks in at 127BPM. Heavy kick, deep subby bassline and some organs make up most of the track. Tracks don’t need to complicated to work, this is proof of that. Simple but so effective! Dizzy, the second track, is a little slower but still at a good pace at 124BPM, and keeps the forward motion going using stabs, muffled bassline and tweaked lead melodies.

We invite you to listen to Drive7’s debut Rejuvenate. Solid deep, lush sounding atmospheric and functional dance floor focussed deep house tracks. Based in Amsterdam and started out in the Dutch house music scene in 2010 as upcoming DJ and event organiser, hosting “Niksistof” and “Cream” events featuring both established DJ’s as well as upcoming talent, gaining recognition in the Dutch club-scene and appearing amongst others at Laidback Luke’s Nighttime Superheroes, De Maassilo, Paradiso and Escape. Previous releases out on Hungarian Hot Wax and House Cookin with a forthcoming release on Glasgow Underground.

Drive7’s new release Rejuvenate may/will sound a bit different to our regular label sound. A more modern and atmospheric, sometimes dubby approach of deephouse. This sound can be heard on the first two tracks: Rejuvenate and Galvanize, while the 3rd track Unwind is more of an oldskool sounding house track. All 3 though were heavily supported on mutiple store charts and dj-sets. Variety, the spice of life, innit?

Addvibe – Burdons

We have lost count how many times we’ve released music from our Norwegian friend Addvibe aka Lux Experience aka Pal Sorli. He routinely sends us links of new work, or as it was the case on Burdons, older unreleased tracks from ages ago. Burdons is exactly that, a 3 tracker with older unreleased cuts he found on a backup HDD. They survived the test of time as we liked them a lot. Starting of deep, moving over to more groovy and garage inspired sounds.

GENTS154 – Addvibe – Burdons EP

Burdons, Copycat & Happy Feet

Addvibe‘s new release Burdons is out worldwide by the time you’ll read this post. The release gathered nice support from Traxsource and DJ’s all over the world. Some like the deeper cut, Burdons, while others firmly opted to go for the more garage inspired Happy Feet. The garage house genre has been gathering fans left and right over the past two years and we see more labels giving the genre a chance. Addvibe’s track was found on an old harddisk and dates back a few years though. It’s playful in it’s use of clever placed samples to create the garage vibe.

His Traxsource bio reads the following: Doesn’t discriminate against any style, tempo or genre but for some reason always returns to house. We hope to see more from him.

Rawdio returns to the label with follow-up The Real Groove. Consisting of 4 super deep and gorgeous tracks made during the pandemic lockdowns in 2020. Kicking off with Loungin which kinda sounds like Mike Sharon, moving over to The Real Groove for a more minimal approach with a lovely groove, to the sublime Curfew. Sampling his own voice in the process to end with the floaty yet moody November.

Lockdowns and curfews

The Real Groove came to be when Rawdio – as most of us globally – was in lockdown during the recent pandemic. Spending a lot of time in the studio creating new tracks. When he hit us up with these tracks all we needed was 1 hour to listen as we instantly decided to take em on. Some of his best production work to date in our opinion and it looks like he’s just getting to the ideal cruising speed.

Got To Move – The Boogie Moon

We’ve got another French, Paris based duo on board! Antoine and Bastien form Got To Move and got in touch with their demos for The Boogie Moon. The original Ride To The Boogie Moon is a funky uptempo jacker with a boogie funk feel. The original is then remixed by another Parisian that goes by the name of Arkid. He transforms it into a Minimal/Deep Tech cut. Grab Me House the EP opening track uses clever catchy sampling with filtering applied which we’re kinda used to from the French (touch). Do Nada is also really dope but is better filed under the house genre.

The Boogie Moon is the debut EP from the fairly unknown French duo Got To Move. Packed with 3 originals and a remix, this makes for a well rounded EP. Covering multiple styles of house and bringing variety to the table, which we like a lot at the label HQ. From track creation, to artwork or even press kit material these guys have nailed it. Impressive to see that there are artists that work their own career path so well. They’ve been pushing hard at getting premieres sorted for all the tracks on the EP and the release sold well.

An exciting new collaboration between a Russian & French producer found its way to our inbox. Lebedev (RU), aka Maxim Lebedev teams up with Vallmon to create the stunning 3-tracker Auvrie. Track titles are all pretty short & sweet and seem to be girls/women names (Auvrie, Eva, Glia). First two tracks on the EP are uptempo groovers with more melodic content/melodies on Eva. Glia has impressive synth work while groovin’ at a slower tempo.

Russian/French collaboration on Auvrie

Lebedev (RU) is a known name in today’s deephouse scene, not only with his productions being released on a multitude of the finest underground label, but also on his very own Rhythm Section imprint. Ranging from the deeper cuts to the more jackin vibes. Vallmon on the other hand is a less known Parisian artist with a previous release on Crosswalk records. The result of bringing together two artists with a slightly different sound is found on Auvrie, and ticks all our boxes. Lovely grooving housemusic!
