Flashback: Khillaudio – Swingin’ Times (The Remixes)

Feel Good Groovin

There’s a really cool story about how Feel Good Groovin initially came to be. As a label owner Khillaudio is frequently in touch with his label artists and has made a couple of good friends along the way. Lux Experience aka Addvibe is just one of them. He mailed the label boss a small funky/disco sample for his 43th birthday (in 2019), and basically motivated him to get a track going from it. The rest is history and around 2 years later it got released and could count on proper dj support. Berlin House Music took care of the premiere.

Khillaudio adds another two remixes to his Swingin’ Times track.

When ‘Swingin’ Times’ originally came out as a single it was bundled together with remixes from both Sebb Junior and Das Carma. For the label’s 100 release Khillaudio wanted it to be something special. Sothe decision was made to issue out another 2 additional remixes of his ‘Swingin’ Times’ track. Good friend 22 Weeks jumped in, as well as Leigh D Oliver. Both remixes are totally different to the other mixes making for a varied package. While 22 Weeks goes full-on house, Leigh strips back a lot of the polished elements and adds some dirt, for a filty and more distroted lo-fi vibe.

Labelboss Khillaudio starts a collaboration EP with label artist Platzdasch.

Back in 2016 we’ve have released David Platzdasch first outing on the label in the form of a double two track EP entitled ‘Two Decades’. Later that year we’ve issued out a remix to David for Khillaudio’s ‘Cut Your Grass’ EP, as well as getting on board Harrison BDP and Phasen.

This was then followed by the ‘Transition Game’ EP that David made with his keyboard player Holger Dix. I guess it’s pretty clear to say that we really like what he does in the studio. So… plans we’re made for a studio collaboration.

No Way

All of this collaboration, the 2 original tracks, came to life during two long sessions at Platzdasch studio in Krefeld, Germany. A little back and forth online to iron out the final flaws in the mix and we could start to plan for a release date. Months passed as we couldn’t really find a good spot in between the body of remix and original work Platzdasch had done together with Dix in the months following our get together.
The wait and delays for a releasedate resulted in adding the third track to the EP. A Platzdasch & Dix remix of the original mix. Which makes for a fine tuned total package of an EP.

Labelhead Khillaudio revisits his track ‘Cut Your Grass’ released in 2014 on the now defunct Antelope Records. On this release you’ll find a remastered original along with 3 stunning remixes by Platzdasch, Harrison BDP and Phasen. The combination of these mixes makes for a nice and varied total package encompassing lots of different shades of house. Two of the tracks have also been premiered by Online magazine Tanzgemeinshaft and Listen Closely. Enjoy!

After laying down some digital “foundations” for the label it was time to up the ante and continue to grow. This by means of doing select vinyl releases alongside our digital release schedule.
One year in the making we proudly present to you our very first release on beautiful limited black 12 inch vinyl. An EP holding 2 original tracks by Marc Cotterell (Plastik People Recordings label boss) and all round nice guy, with an exquisite taste in housemusic. EP title track Vibe The Musik has those crisp slamming drums and garage stabs throughout with a fingerlicking pipe organ solo that just keeps the track rolling until the end. On the flip/logo side we find Marc’s 2nd track I Wanna Dance, which is a more stripped back, slamming houser with a really powerful punchy bassline and some really dirty chord stabs. We also had the title track remixed by Four Walls and Khillaudio, both giving the track a more laidback and relaxed vibe, while shortening or reworking the organ solo.
